Aug. 30 (UPI) — Tropical Storm Julian picked up some strength after forming in the central Atlantic Ocean on Sunday morning but quickly faded, forecasters said.
In its 3 a.m. GMT Monday update, the National Hurricane Center said Julian had weakened to a post-tropical cyclone.
The NHC reported its last position about 820 miles southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland, and about 810 miles west of the Azores. Then, it was producing maximum sustained winds of 60 mph and moving northeast at 26 mph.
Julian was the tenth named storm of the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season.
